Program Description

4Results matches adults with children who have been identified by a mental health therapist as needing a compatible adult role model. Mentors receive training and ongoing support. They become part of a team that serves the child and family. Mentors engage in community activities with their matched child.

Population Served

Youth are boys and girls age 7-18 who are receiving mental health services, for any reason, and are identified as needing to form a trusting relationship. They are matched with a mentor based on compatibility.

Goals and Objectives

To build a strong community through intergenerational bonds between children and adults. To help young people form a trusting relationship.

Mentor Profile

Qualifications for CHOICE Advisors: positive self-esteem, desire/ability to work and talk with students, sensitivity to problems faced by teenagers, dependability, strong sense of commitment, ability to maintain patient, non-judgmental attitude, ability to pass required criminal background check.

Hours Needed

  • Mornings: 8 am to Noon
  • Afternoon: Noon to 3 pm
  • After School: 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Evenings: 5 pm to 9 pm
  • Weekend
